Currently, the standard is set to ISO, so it will need to be set to ASME to match the 3D model in our previous screenshot. If it’s different, click the Modify button to change it.

Next step: Head to Start > Mechanical Design Drafting (or File > New and choose Drawing).Ĭheck the default drawing standard. So, the drawing must also use the ASME standard. Pick Properties and in the new menu and head to the Standard tab.

To check the 3D annotation’s standard, find the Annotation branch of the tree and give it a right click. Now, to get this information into a 2D drawing, you’ll want to create a new drawing using the same standard as the 3D data. (More information on creating these 3D annotations can be found in the CATIA V5: Functional Tolerancing & Annotation class.) If you’ve got a model displaying dimensions, tolerances, notes, and annotations in 3D, it can be used to create a 2D drawing view with the same information.
